Ivory on Ebony

Calling all dog people... How do you get rid of the dandruff in Utah climate of an average humidity of -12%?

Fish oil isn't working. Brushing every day seems to multiply it. He gets a bath every Sunday. If it's going to take daily baths to get rid of it, it ain't happenin'.

Does he need to sleep with a humidifier in his kennel? That ain't happenin' either. I bought a Furminator, waiting for delivery.

Help me out here, throw me a bone, I gotta get rid of this white flaky epidermal matter on his not-so-shiny-anymore coat.

Fish oil is known to help, unless it's on recommendation from a vet or groomer I'd not bathe him except for every two months or so unless he's really dirty. Over bathing messes up the PH balance on their skin. Try using an oatmeal shampoo and I give my dogs a garlic and brewer's yeast tablets that helps their skin. Of course it can cause yeast infections so I'd keep an eye on it. Regular brushing and wiping him down with damp rags if he's dirty will keep the doggy smell down but require less bathing which should help his skin.

Hope that helps!
