While I'm at It

What's up with the sudden overly excited shedding problem? It's disgusting! If I could find my camera I'd prove the disgust to you. Piles of hair and it isn't all mine! I'm ok with the three dustpans full of hair, but the triple three is kind of getting to me. Do you have any idea how much Swiffer sheets cost? And the $.50 off coupon just isn't doin' it for me. The Furminator r has shipped and I can't wait for the package.

Does anyone have a picture of a shaved black Lab? Or has anyone tried putting their dog in a spandex suit? I'm considering posting a cheap hair plug service on Craigslist.org. Just weighing my options...

Hey Kelly. Mel here. Furmintators work...if you use them. It's tedious but the effort does generate piles of hair. Too much bathing can cause dandruff. CCI came out with a recommendation awhile ago so I cut back from every two weeks to once a month or more (if I can stand it). Fish oil does work, too, but one source says the problem is the imbalance between Omega 3 fatty acids and Omega 6. I wish I remembered more the ratio of the two are important. Unfortunately, the black dogs show the dander way more than the yellow ones.
I have seen a shaved dog. Ingrid takes Celeste (our release dog) to be shaved regularly. She looks a feels great. Our vet highly recommends shaving twice a year. But, you need a highly competent groomer else it can look awful. I even asked CCI if we could have puppies in training shaved and the answer was absolutely NOT! That is viewed as a public perception problem. Some people already think we are too hard on these dogs. Whatever. Graduates have more freedom than pr's, however.

What the hell is the furminator!? Fen gets some scrambled egg about once a week. He is rather fond of the nicely folded ones that Ky doesn't eat off of her Egg McMuffin. What I am saying, he likes them scrambled and sunny side up too. I highly doubt an egg is on T's strict diet though so sorry - not much help. He is still lovable even if he needs head and shoulders for doggies.
