A few girls get together every month to quilt. Quilt? Yep you read that correctly. Now before you laugh at how dorky that sounds, realize that it doesn't include any kind of organized lesson. Refreshments are served, but there aren't any virgin punches, mini sandwiches with Miracle Whip and Kraft slices or jello. Aside from not having any of those things, we manage to have a good time.
We make a quilt in a night and someone goes home with a treasure. We are just now perfecting efficiency and technique (and we're picking up some tips from each other). The first month we made a quilt for our friend, Lindsay, who just had a baby and needed a mankie of her own. You'll see it in this slide show.
Kirsten had never sewn before and we did her quilt this month. It turned out darling (it's shown in this slide show too).
So far we've made a big one for Mia (for handsome Kelly), Sandy, Kirsten, Lindsay and Kristin. Then we've done a bunch of baby blankets, aprons, and cat beds. Next month Kellene had a cool oriental black and white design in mind. And in August I get to do mine, but I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. Hopefully, it's a monthly party and we can do a second quilt for each of us.
