Looking back, 2008 was a pretty good year. Here's a postview of some my favorite everythings. I'll be adding as the month goes on.
The best taste... is definitely J.D.'s hommade kahula -- Early Morning Rise, 2008 vintage. Ooooh, heat it 20 seconds in the microwave and... holy warm belly! it's the perfect drink to warm your innerds. This year is especially tasty.
The best surprise... was a signed copy of, Bliss, mailed to me by Dean Koontz with a hand-written note.
The best miss... the Jackson Hole viewing of Twilight. Dang! I missed that one.
The best gift... Gabrielle.
The best hotel stay... 21 C, Louisville
The best book... Hands down this year's best book is Billy Collins' poetry book. Thanks Mia.
The best friends... K and KSLM and S and R, you know who you are. The best trip... Puerto Vallarta.
The best season... Winter! I hate winter, but this one brought J.D. home for a few months.
The best two-step... Lindsay's every step.
The best wine... Hook & Ladder
The best projects... Ari's dragon quilt and J.D.'s structure
The best move... Kirsten leaving the flickin' hippo.
The best news... 2-way tie between: "It's not cancer, it's just a 10 lb. burrito." and "Dave and Hollie are pregnant!"
The best meal... Stein Erickson Lodge, Deer Valley
The best man... Won!
The best DUH... "All these firemen are named Jed!"
The best sign... At an Evanston church: "Eat the devil's corn and you will choke on his cob."
The best gadget... Hands Free can opener
The best Mexican food... Randy's tamales
The best family... My Fambly!

Still pretty mortified about the whole JFD thing. I am rarely the one making duh comments - just duh faces, like when fake Irish accents come with your pizza.
