Today I was overwhelmed with grief for the Haiti survivors. I'm 2,000 miles away but my television brought it into my home and it made me so incredibly sad. NBC had a report about the crush victims and said that Haiti is now a country of amputees. There are always silver linings in stories of loss, but the number of stories sent me into a sobbing fit tonight. It got me calculating how many wheelchairs Haiti will need. Too many. Way too many.
Imagine accessibility in Haiti. Perhaps that is one silver lining that will need to happen. There is strength in numbers and the need for everything will force accessibility for those wheelchairs.

Regarding your elementary school pictures - My mom flat out told me one year mine were so awful she wouldn't buy them. How much of my insecurity about my appearance I can legitimately pin on her??? That was a long time ago, now they make you PAY for them before they even take the picture.
